As part of the EXIST Startup Factory program, GOe FUTURE is based on a public-private partnership model that combines public funding with private capital. This model provides a strong foundation for the long-term development of the life sciences startup ecosystem.

We bring together people, expertise, and organizations across science, entrepreneurship, business, and society to create opportunities for life science innovation and entrepreneurship.

Mission & Identity

Building on strength. Connecting what matters.

Turning scientific discoveries into market-ready solutions takes time, expertise, and capital. For life science startups, long development cycles, high risks, and significant capital requirements make the journey from research to market particularly challenging.

We address these specific challenges by bringing together expertise, networks, programs, and partners. Building on existing strengths within the ecosystem, we create targeted formats and fill gaps where additional support can strengthen the foundations for sustainable growth.

Lower Saxony

A strong foundation for life science innovation

Lower Saxony offers an exceptional foundation for life science innovation and entrepreneurship.

At the heart of the region is the Hannover–Göttingen–Braunschweig research triangle, bringing together universities, universities of applied sciences, and leading non-university research institutions. Across 15 participating institutions, a broad spectrum of scientific expertise, technologies, and talent creates significant potential for new ideas, spin-offs, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Around 90,000 students study in the region, including approximately 20,000 in the life sciences. Combined with the region's research infrastructure and established network of partners, this concentration of talent provides a strong foundation for translating scientific excellence into entrepreneurial opportunities.

We build on these strengths. By connecting regional expertise with partners across Germany and internationally, we create programs and formats that address specific needs and support the development of life science startups.
